A World Without Borders

New form of governance for a better balanced life in our planet

Some of the most amazing views ever seen are the ones from space. Whether orbiting the Earth in a Spacecraft or the International Space Station, the most common perspective shared by those who have experienced the view, is that there are no national borders seen from space. The world is one continuous tract of land separated by massive oceans. How could we ever arrive at such state in Human History, where there is no longer need for national borders?

In order to truly expound on such a thought, we must understand just exactly what borders do. Ultimately, they are the Boundaries of Power.

They map out how far the governing body extends upon the land. At junctures, these boundaries may be natural, for example a mountain range or a river bank; or they may be man-made, is a border wall or a barb-wired fence. They define the edges of governing power and are supposedly respected by all involved. Any non-compliance with these boundaries can cause, in the least likelihood, a skirmish or to a major reaction, an all-out war.

To live in a world with no boundaries, we must literally do away with these governing bodies, replacing them with a bi-level form of government instead. This bi-level form would have a single Worldwide Government and local branches separated and yet unified under the same laws.

The Worldwide Government would be similar to a United Nations bureaucracy but more efficient and more unified. The Natural Laws of Mankind, established by the UN after World War II, would resound throughout this Worldwide Government. Laws that ensure Life, Liberty, Happiness, Fair Housing, Universal Healthcare, Competitive Employment, Sustainable Production, Environmental Protection and a common shared value system based on the institution of the right for life to exist, would propagate throughout the land.

The local branch of this government would deal with the minutiae of everyday life, logistically ensuring all aspects of these Natural Laws of Mankind to the population-at-large. History has proven over and over again that the local forms of government truly have the largest effect on the population. When watching the evening news on a media outlet, statistically more people are involved when it comes to the local broadcast as opposed to the National or International News. Why? Because the local news has more of an effect and impact on the local general population. Local forms of government would have the same impact on the population-at-large. They would act as the intermediary when practicing Dispute Resolution. They can logistically assist individuals on a personal level in case of catastrophic events using funding and oversight from the Worldwide Government. They can enforce the Laws of Mankind on a personal level. The local governments can enact incentives for the regional economy that would coincide with the needs of all involved without causing inefficiency and the repetition of the same products/services that cause the loss of all valuable resources.

The Worldwide Government would be involved in the Sciences and Engineering that can improve Mankind in various aspects. Space Exploration, unified under one Federation (sounds like Star Trek), would eliminate redundancy and all inefficiency. Clean Energy Production would be vastly expanded to include all regions of the world, using that particular region's resources to assist more poorly resourced regions, without causing dissatisfaction and eventual warfare. Based upon the Natural Laws of Mankind, there would be a commonality between regions causing a more unified thinking process and a more focused attention on issues affecting mankind-at-large.

Consider the system we have now. Look at the redundancy, the waste of resources and funding, the disarray of common thought that only works against the system. Imagine what we, as a species, can accomplish if we were all on "the same page". The sky would literally be the limit.

In conclusion, we have to improve the way things are currently run. We have noticed the importance of Globalization since the advent of the Covid pandemic. The status quo cannot stand as it is now. Another global catastrophe is imminent, we must be prepared.
